Title

Adopt City Council Resolution Amending Resolution 4159-2019 Declaring a Shelter Crisis Pursuant to Government Code Section 8698.2

Summary

On April 22, 2019, the City Council adopted Resolution 4159-2019 declaring a shelter crisis pursuant to Government Code Section 8698.2. This Resolution was part of the Consent Calendar of April 22. The motion to approve the Consent Calendar was made by Councilmember Peters. Councilmember Albin-Smith seconded the motion. The vote taken was as follows: Ayes: Councilmembers Morsell-Haye, Norvell, Peters and Mayor Lee; Noes: Councilmember Albin-Smith. Afterwards, Councilmember Albin-Smith realized that her No vote had been in error; she thought she was voting against a motion to remove a different item from the Consent Calendar. (No vote is required to remove an item from Consent.) This amendment appears on the Consent Calendar so Councilmember Albin-Smith can have the opportunity to vote Aye on the Resolution declaring a shelter crisis, which she does support.
