Adopt City Council Resolution Approving an Application for Funding and Execution of Agreement and Any Amendments Thereto from the United States Department of Agriculture’s Community Facility Grant Program

Summary

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) administers a grant program that provides funding through the Community Facility Grant Program to develop essential community facilities that provide necessary services to the local community. One of the top priorities identified in the FY 2018/19 budget for the Public Works Department is to replace one of the police vehicles, which is an eligible project under the USDA Community Facilities Grant Program. It is required that the Grantee (City of Fort Bragg) match 45% of the project cost. On November 13, 2018 City Council approved Resolution No. 4131-2018 approving $25,850 as match (45% of total project cost) for a police vehicle that was identified for replacement but is no longer being distributed. The Public Works Department has identified a substitute police vehicle that has an increased match of $2, 275. The identified project cost is $62,500 with $28,125 of required match (45% of total project cost). If awarded the police vehicle will be added to the fleet and be a usable tool for the Fort Bragg Police Department. It is anticipated that if awarded, the police vehicle would be purchased this fiscal year.
