Adopt City Council Resolution Approving Professional Services Agreement with Whitlock & Weinberger Transportation, Inc. (W-Trans) for Traffic Study and Conceptual Plans for 2018 Street Safety Plan (Amount Not to Exceed $49,980; Account No. 314-3021-0631)

Summary

The City of Fort Bragg was awarded a Mendocino Council of Governments (MCOG) grant totaling $64,975 in order to update and broaden the City’s Residential Streets Safety Plan (2005, 2010) to include commercial streets and retitling the document to 2018 Street Safety Plan. Consultant services are needed to evaluate the effectiveness of existing traffic calming measures, conduct field inventory and speed surveys of identified study areas, assist staff with survey development and preparations for community meetings, and provide written documentation, including conceptual design plans, which will inform future Safe Routes to School grant applications and other pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular circulation improvements in the City.

The City issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) on March 5, 2018 with responses due on March 30, 2018. Two timely responses to the RFP were received. The consultant W-Trans was the low bidder with a proposal in the amount of $49,980.
