Summary

On August 14, 2017, the City Council directed staff to proceed with a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a desalination plant study. The purpose of the study is to help determine if desalination is a viable source of water for the City of Fort Bragg, and to analyze options, make projections and summarize findings to assist the City in planning for potential future capital improvements. The RFP was released on August 23, 2017 with proposals due on October 16, 2017. Two timely proposals were received; one from Coleman Engineering with a bid of $35,000.00; one from Michael Baker International, Inc. with a bid of $59,995.00. Staff reviewed both proposals and recommends awarding the contract to Coleman Engineering.
