Title
Adopt City Council Resolution Approving Operating Agreement Between the City of Fort Bragg and the Mendocino Coast Recreation and Park District for Operation of the C.V. Starr Community Center and Authorizing City Manager to Execute Same
Summary
The current Operating Agreement between the Mendocino Coast Recreation and Park District and the City of Fort Bragg for the operation of the C.V. Starr Community Center (CVSCC) will expire on June 30, 2017. The City and the District have negotiated a new five-year Operating Agreement. On June 21, 2017, the Mendocino Coast Recreation and Park District Board authorized its Executive Director to execute the new Operating Agreement for the CVSCC. The attached resolution is presented to the City Council for approval and will authorize the City Manager to execute the new Operating Agreement. If approved, the new Operating Agreement will expire on June 30, 2022.
No major changes to the Agreement are proposed. A five-year agreement is proposed rather than a three-year agreement. Also, the title of "C.V. Starr Director" is changed to "District Administrator." The remaining changes are for clarification and streamlining purposes. Both City and MCRPD staff recommend the adoption of the renewal as presented. The City Council's CVSCC Ad Hoc Committee (Cimolino, Lee) reviewed the revised Operating Agreement and concurred with the proposed changes.
