Adopt City Council Resolution Requesting PG&E to Retrofit Fort Bragg Streetlights with Energy-Saving LED Fixtures

...Summary

At its March 13, 2017 meeting, the City Council heard a presentation from PG&E regarding the replacement of the City’s streetlamps with new LED lighting fixtures.  PG&E covers all costs for the replacements and is ready to begin the installs with Council’s approval.  Based on Council’s enthusiasm for the project and their direction to bring the item back on a future consent calendar, the Public Works Department reviewed the list of fixtures provided by PG&E and provided the following recommendation based on current wattage:

     Existing HPS                      Proposed LED

     Street Lights                         Street Lights                     Locations

70 Watts                               29 Watts                        Residential areas

100 Watts                              34 Watts                        Downtown & Main Street

200 Watts                              73 Watts                        Noyo Bridge

Upon passage of the Resolution, PG&E will work with City staff to execute the replacement of the City’s streetlight fixtures with the new energy saving LED fixtures to be completed by April 30, 2017 or soon thereafter.
