Adopt City Council Resolution Designating the Grounds of the Guest House Museum as a City Park

...Summary
The Bee City USA Subcommittee has requested that the Fort Bragg City Council designate the grounds surrounding the Guest House Museum at 343 North Main Street as a City Park to be known as "Guest House Park." Naming the grounds of the Guest House Museum as a City Park may helpd the Bee City USA Subcommittee seek grant funds to further develop the grounds for the enjoyment of both residents and visitors. The Subcommittee has identified the following possible future enhancements to the grounds as funding becomes available:
1. Installation of a pollinator-friendly demonstration garden to promote Fort Bragg as a Bee City USA Community, educating both residents and visitors on the importance of pollinators to our community and lifestyle;
2. Installation of park bench(s) to enhance the experience while visiting the Park;
3. Increase overall accessibility to the Park with clearly defined paths and signage (both directional and educational).
The Subcommittee is committed to working with others including, but not limited to, the Mendocino Coast Historical Society, the Fort Bragg Garden Club, Bee Bold Mendocino, the Noyo Food Forest and Fort Bragg Rotary to strategically enhance the grounds.

Through the Guest House Park designation and subsequent improvements to the grounds, the Subcommittee is complying with the following Bee City USA Committee suggested activities:
1. Designate pollinator refuges in public spaces;
2. Plant and/or label native, pollinator-friendly plants on City-maintained lands.
