Summary

The Summers Lane Timber Harvest Project (Project) will clear and harvest eight (8) acres of timberland at the north end of Summers Lane. The Project is the first step in preparing the site for construction of a 45-acre foot reservoir. The reservoir will cover approximately 6.5 acres on a 35.8-acre property owned by the City of Fort Bragg.

The City of Fort Bragg has completed all necessary environmental review and has obtained all necessary permits. The timber on the Project site will be cleared and harvested following the guidelines of the Mitigated Negative Declaration and Grading Permit 2013-08. In December 2014, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CALFIRE) approved the Timber Harvesting Plan (THP# 1-13-096 MEN) and Timberland Conversion Permit (TCP) # 610 for the Project.

The Project was advertised for bid on July 9, 2015 and July 16, 2015 and bids were due on July 23, 2015. Four bids were received and Wylatti Resource Management, Inc. was determined to be the lowest responsive bidder at $119,954.81. Staff has reviewed all bid schedules and is satisfied that Wylatti Resource Management, Inc. has the proper license, experience, and meets the necessary requirements to complete the project as bid. The Project is funded by the Summers Lane Reservoir Capital Project Fund appropriations as made in the FY 2015-2016 Budget (Account No. 651-6001-0731).
