Summary

The Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act authorizes local agencies to use an alternative set of bidding procedures, rather than those established by Public Contract Code 20160 et. seq., for certain "public projects."  On July 27, 2015, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 3835 reconfirming the City's election to become subject to the Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act procedures and introduced Ordinance 918-2015 which adds Chapter 3.22 (Informal Bidding Procedures) to the Fort Bragg Muncipal Code. The ordinance allows the City to use established informal bidding procedures for contracts up to $175,000 instead of having to competitively bid every public project in excess of $5,000.  Prior to introducing Ordinance 918-2015 on July 27, 2015, the Council made one minor, non-substantive revision to the ordinance. If the ordinance is adopted on August 10, 2015, it will become effective on September 9, 2015.
