Authorize Cancellation of August 25, 2014 City Council Meeting
Summary
Many cities routinely cancel one or even two City Council meetings during the summer months to give everyone a break and provide opportunities for Council and staff to take vacations without missing meetings. Staff intends to bring this concept forward when the Council re-organizes in December, 2014 and, if the Council chooses to cancel a meeting, that date can be established well in advance. In the meantime, the Council's summer agendas are fairly light and it appears that there is nothing urgent on the August 25th Council meeting agenda. Based on this, staff recommends that the August 25th City Council meeting could be cancelled without delaying any necessary Council business.
