Accept Certificate of Completion for Harrison Street House Rehabilitation Project No. 2013-05, and Direct City Clerk to Record Notice of Completion

Summary
On July 22, 2013, the City Council awarded a contract to Swithenbank Construction, Inc. for major rehabilitation of the Harrison Street House Transitional Housing facility located at 331 North Harrison Street.  The project involved correction of mandatory health and safety code compliance issues, critical structural preservation, restoration and upgrades to sustain the useful life of the facility, and repairs and replacements to maximize facility efficiency at the main house and the alley house structure. Funding for the project was provided by a 2012 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).

The contract was awarded for $591,304, and after the final change order, the contract totaled $608,500, which was within the grant budget. Project architecture and construction management was provided by Schlosser Newberger Architects, and these fees were paid from grant Activity Delivery funds.

The Certificate of Completion was signed by Todd Newberger of Schlosser Newberger Architects on May 13, 2014 certifying that all work has been performed to the specifications laid out in the bid documents.  It is attached as Exhibit "A" to the Notice of Completion.
