Adopt City Council Resolution Authorizing the Grant Application, Acceptance and Execution for the Oneka Seawater Desalination Buoy Design Pilot Study
Summary
On September 26, 2022, Dragan Tutic, CEO and Cofounder of Oneka Technologies, made a presentation to City Council about Oneka's wave powered sustainable desalination project. On that date, Council agreed to move forward with a pilot study and directed staff to bring a resolution directly back to Council without going forward to a Committee. Adoption of this resolution will authorize the City to apply for the grant that will help fund the pilot project. The amount of funding requested is $1,500,000. The application deadline is October 4, 2022.
