Adopt City Council Resolution Accepting the Public Drainage Easement from Dennis Miller and Barbara DeOca, as Required by Lot Line Adjustment LLA 1-19, and Authorize City Manager to Execute Certificate of Acceptance
Summary
An existing drainage ditch, located about 10’ to the east of, and parallel to, the westerly boundary of the lands of Miller and DeOca, is of Public benefit. It transports storm water from the south to the Public facilities in and north of Cedar Street. At this time, there is no Public access to the drainage facility, and maintenance has been deferred for a substantial period of time.
The existing drainage ditch on the lands of Miller and DeOca requires attention in order to transport storm water effectively to the City drainage facilities located in and north of Cedar Street. Acquiring the 20’ wide Public Drainage Easement will enable the City to access the drainage facility for necessary maintenance, and for future improvements as needed.
Staff recommends the Council adopt the resolution accepting the 20’ Public Drainage Easement and authorize City Manager to execute the Certificate of Acceptance. Acceptance of the easement is consistent with the goals of the City to adequately maintain public facilities.
